Transformers 3 Update From Michael Bay

michaelbay.com was updated a short while ago to let us in on some Transformers 3 News. We get our first look at the newest Autobot to join the ranks and the names of new cast members for the movie

Hey, it's been a long time since I've posted. Just been a little busy.

Transformers 3 has been going very well. We are going to shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China. On the talent front, we just locked in Frances McDormand and John Malkovich. Both amazing actors I've always wanted to work with. We also just got Ken Jeong, he is the super funny actor stuck in the trunk from “Hangover” and the Doctor from “Knocked Up.”

We start shooting pre-shoots in about one month.

I also was at a Ferrari charity event this week raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti. I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.

I also want to thank everyone on this site that donated to the Make -A-Wish charity. We raised $20,000 which I will personally be matching. This is a great charity where they make wishes come true for kids who are very ill. We have had many Kids from Make-A-Wish visit us on our Transformers sets and this time we will be posting video of they're visits on Transformers 3.

Packaging Shots for Leader-Class Battle Hooks Optimus Prime and Starscream

The-Arker has posted multiple shots of the packaging for the first two Leader-class figures from Hasbro's 2010 Transformers line: Starscream and Optimus Prime (with Battle Hooks).

Bio
Optimus Prime may think him a coward, but Starscream never flees a fight out of fear alone. Every retreat is calculated to keep him alive long enough to return and destroy his opponents with overwhelming power. As long as the Autobots seek him in force, he will remain hidden. As soon as Optimus Prime ventures out alone, however, Starscream will strike.

Bio
Optimus Prime is under no illusions about how dangerous Starscream really is. The Decepticon second-in-command might be a coward, but he's still smart and powerful enough to present a real threat to Earth. The Autobot leader has Human and Autobot agents combing the globe for the hiding air warrior. As soon as they find him, though, it will be Optimus Prime alone who goes in to bring him down.

Hasbro's HUB TV Commercial

There is a commercial for Hasbro and Discovery’s HUB TV Channel, surfacing here and there on the net. I’ve managed to find a good copy and uploaded it to YouTube. Nothing much to mention other than that, there will be a some sort of tv series regarding Transformers. Nothing is mentioned about the tv series, but I’m pretty sure that we’ll be seeing that commercial soon. Apparently, there are rumors that this TV Commercial was shown at the ToyFair. Can anyone who visited the ToyFair 2010 confirm this ?

Enjoy !!!

Edit : This commercial is now available at Hasbro's official website, but the streaming is Poor. Good thing I uploaded it to YouTube.

Transformers 3 Concept Art Surfaces

Images of what is quite possibly concept art for Transformers 3 / upcoming video game has surfaced, originating from Frankell Baramdyka who has done some work on the Transformers movie games for Activision/Luxoflux and High Moon Studios and has worked on movies such as Chronicles of Riddick and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. The possible concept art suggests that Earth may not be on the only non-Cybertronian planet seen in the third movie or upcoming video game and also shows of a few new possible characters (including some familiar terminology!). If this is official concept art for the movie, it also confirms the production team's promise that the movie will dig deeper into the Transformers mythos.

Links to the Images removed at the request of Hasbro/Activision representatives.

Enjoy !!! :-)

Bumblebee from "Transformers: Prime" Revealed!

Monocle of The AllSpark has provided an image from media advertising magazine Brandweek that promotes a sneak peak of Hasbro and Discovery's upcoming network "The Hub". One of the characters featured on the image is the robot version of Bumblebee from the upcoming Transformers cartoon for The Hub that is currently called Transformers: Prime. The image of Bumblebee shares some characteristics of movie-verse Bumblebee, suggesting that Transformers: Prime will indeed take place with the Movie Universe!

"Transformers : Hunt For The Decepticons" Books

Three new Transformers books have been found listed online by 2005 Boards member NIBMRatchet. The three new books come under the upcoming Hunt for the Decepticons iniative that carries on the Movie universe following the Revenge of the Fallen line. The three books are titled Satellite Meltdown, Ratchet to the Rescue, and Buddy Brawl.

Is this, together with yesterday's news that Transformers Animated may be continued in print form, a sign that Hasbro may be broadening their approach to Transformers fiction beyond cartoons and comics?

Transformers 3 to bring Core Mythology to the fore

In an interview with the MTV Movies Blog, Hasbro CEO and Transformers live action movie series executive producer Brian Goldner has revealed a few new teasing hints at what might be in store for Transformers 3. In particular, there is a promise of going back to the roots of the story and bringing more of the core mythology to the forefront:

"What we’re really doing is getting back to some of the core character development and storytelling. And I think there’s some elements of the core story that the filmmakers, Michael in particular wanted to tell. He’s really well-versed in the Transformers lore. So I think you’ll see, you know, less bedlam, more characters."

In addition to the comments on the story, Brian Goldner confirms that stars Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf will be returning to reprise their roles in the third film.

Michael Bay talks Transformers 3, promises new characters and twists

Michael Bay was a guest on Starz' "In the House", and true to form, he took a little time out to talk about his upcoming projects including Transformers 3. While Michael Bay was tight-lipped about specific plans, he revealed that yes, himself and Paramount are experimenting with 3-D for some Transformers scenes. Michael Bay wants to see how it will look for his footage with lots of particles coming out of the frame. And of course, he also teased on adding new characters and new story revelations, although he's not given anything away:

"We're adding a lot of new elements. We're adding new characters. We're adding a lot of twists."

What does this mean for Transformers 3? What new elements and new twists could be introduced into the story this time around? Check out the full article on the MTV Movies Blog
