Filming Of Transformers 3 To Blow Up... Downtown Traffic

The “Transformers 3” news conference held Wednesday at the Office of Emergency Management and Communications wasn't meant to stir up interest in the film, which will shoot in Chicago from July 10-Aug. 19, but to prepare the general public. For what? Jets flying by Willis Tower? Cars plummeting into the Chicago River? Shia LaBeouf's awkward return to the Walgreens on North Michigan Avenue? Nope... Traffic.

OEMC Executive Director Jose Santiago said the closures on LaSalle Street (8 p.m. July 9 to 5 a.m. July 12), the Michigan Avenue bridge (8 p.m. July 16 to 5 a.m. July 19) and Upper Wacker Drive (9 p.m. July 18 to 5 a.m. July 22) will have the most impact on traffic. He added that most of the movie's filming in Chicago will take place during daylight.

“It's an ambitious production … but we and the producers are committed to mitigating the disruptions and addressing community concerns,” said Chicago Film Office Director Rich Moskal.

What can Chicagoans expect from filming — besides traffic?

Moskal said recently a few “scenes they're planning could match if not exceed the spectacular stuff ‘The Dark Knight' production pulled off.”

Yes, he's talking about the 2008 Batman film that featured an 18-wheeler getting flipped over on LaSalle Street and a massive explosion that leveled the old Brach's Candy building on the West Side.

“Flying debris, flipping cars, stunts, that's the kind of stuff you'll probably be seeing here,” added Moskal.

Transformers 3 To Film In Detroit In August

Freep.com has posted an article saying that the Transformers movie franchise will spend part of this summer in the Motor City.

Transformers 3 plans to film in metro Detroit in August, according to Gabriela Gutentag, a spokeswoman for the movie. Filming there is expected to last two to three weeks.

Several locations — including Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and overseas locales — will be employed in the latest edition of the popular action series from director Michael Bay.

Scenes for the first “Transformers” were filmed in Detroit, including at the Michigan Central Station. Bay also filmed scenes here for the 2005 movie “The Island.”

“Transformers 3” has been approved for the state’s tax incentives for filmmaking, according to the Michigan Film Office.

Transformers 3 To Bring $20 Million + 200 Jobs To Chicago, Mayor Daley Welcomes The 'Bayhem'

Michael Bay’s official website; Shoot For The Edit, posted two articles from Chicago Sun-Times and from the Chicago Tribune, letting us know that Transformers 3 is bringing $20 million and 200 jobs to Chicago. This happy news is capped with the fact that Mayor Daley blessed the Transformers 3 project and welcomes the “Bayhem” with open arms. Transformers 3 is certain to include even more scenes of death and destruction on the streets of Chicago.

“You’re gonna see a little bit of mayhem. You know, I mean it wouldn’t be ‘Transformers’ without it,” Di Bonaventura said.

“Hopefully, it’ll be fun. What we find is, people really end up enjoying the spectacle of what we’re doing.”

Di Bonaventura said they were still selecting specific sites to film, but would “be shooting a lot in downtown.”

The jobs generated by the Transformers project will include 10 internships for South and West side high school students.

Sideswipe Returns for Transformers 3 as a Convertible!

Looks like it's not Bumblebee who's getting his top off. Thanks to YouTube user nando323, we now have a confirmation on the new model design of Corvette Stingray (Vehicle mode of movie Sideswipe). The "new" Convertible Sideswipe was spotted during a Transformers 3 filming in L.A, alongside his Autobot buddies; Bumblebee and the Ferrari 458 Italia. Hasbro will be happy. Since Mattel took the rights to manufacture toys based on the regular Stingray (which explains why we are getting Aston Martin DB9 shaped Sideswipe RPMs and Lotus Elise shaped Deluxe Sidearm Sideswipes), Hasbro now can own the rights to deliver toys based on the new model.

Transformers 3 To Shutdown Michigan Avenue For Three And A Half Days

We’ve previously reported about Transformers 3 being filmed in Michigan Avenue a.k.a. Magnificent Mile thanks to Collecticon.org.

Now, they have posted the exact dates too.

"Chicago’s Michigan Avenue, also known as “The Magnificent Mile”, will be closed to foot and vehicular traffic on July 15th at 8 PM through July 19th at 5 AM for commencement of filming for Transformers 3. There will be lots of explosions and crashing cars during this time. The general public will not be allowed to enter the area directly surrounding Michigan Avenue and the filming is expected to be intense. Businesses along Michigan Avenue are currently receiving information regarding the filming schedule. This will in effect close down the busiest shopping district in Chicago for 3 & 1/2 full days! Security is expected to be very tight.

Those that filed to be an extra may be spending some time down on Michigan this Summer, but you won’t be shopping!"

James Avery Confirmed as Voice Actor for Transformers 3

Back in February, it was reported that James Avery would be providing the voice for a new Transformer called Silverbolt in Transformers 3.

This last weekend, an internet rumor spread that James had passed away. In confirmation that he was indeed still alive and that his death was some cruel hoax, a representative for the actor stated that he is doing well and will assume the role of Silverbolt in Transformers 3! Confirmation!

First look at Transformers 3 Teaser Poster

From the International Licensing Expo 2010 we get our first look at a teaser poster for Transformers 3! This poster does not give much away, but does show a very awesome and heroic looking view of Optimus Prime striding through the middle of an explosion (how very appropriate). Check it out along with a display of Bumblebee model and Camaro over at Comic Book Movie.

New Transformers 3 on set pictures - including a clear view of Ratchet's new look!

A small gallery has been posted to Flickr, showing off the vehicles of Transformers 3 in storage prior to being used on screen. The Ironhide Topkick and the Optimus Prime truck are both there, as is a group of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles, used for scouting terrain from the air). What is particularly exciting though is the presence of Autobot Ratchet, in his all-new deco. We previously saw it in transit, but it was partially covered up. Now you can see the whole thing for the first time! Ratchet now features a much brighter green, as well as a large gray stripe on the side panels and an entirely gray hood on his front. His side panels, instead of the "lifesign pulse" detail, now feature the wording "FIRE DEPARTMENT E4".

Transformers 3 Washington D.C Filming Plans – A Car Race

The Washington Post published an article today telling the world what exactly the Transformers 3 Production Team going to shoot during their stay at Washington D.C.

This is what the article read...

Battle of the Transformers starts even before the opening credits
By Jonathan O'Connell
Monday, June 7, 2010

As the story goes, the Transformers -- enmeshed in intergalactic battle -- traveled from the far-off planet of Cybertron all the way to earth in pursuit of an all-powerful talisman.

They are having trouble handling the National Park Service, however.

Plans are underway for portions of the third segment in the blockbuster Transformers series to be filmed in D.C. this September, a chance for the city and its businesses to reap spending on hotel rooms, meals, equipment rentals, taxi rides and temporary jobs from a production budget some have estimated to total more than $200 million.

A dispute with the Park Service, however, over where and what the film crew will be allowed to shoot has producers from Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks scaling back their plans for the city. The companies had planned a colossal number of filming days -- about 14 -- in addition to an expected month or more of time in D.C. for other production needs. Now the period of "principal photography" might be whittled down to less than a week, despite the project having director Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg at the helm.

Paramount spokeswoman Gabriela Gutentag said with negotiations ongoing, she did not know how many days the company would end up filming in D.C. "We've gone from two weeks to 10 days to three days to seven days; I don't really know," she said.

Bill Line, Park Service spokesman, said the producers "have asked to do some things that simply are not done on the National Mall," among them staging a "car race" along the Mall's gravel paths and flooding it with artificial light in order to shoot at night.

"A lot of this could be more appropriately shot in a Hollywood studio," Line said. "The National Mall is not an area in which Americans come to see high-tech action movies being shot."

Kathy Hollinger, director of the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development, acknowledged that the plans amounted to "a lot more than D.C. has ever been accustomed to in terms of scale and impact," including, for instance, simulated explosions and pyrotechnics at locations along Pennsylvania and Independence avenues.

"The robots will be here," she said. "It's not like they're going to be building and having these little miniature Transformers running around and then make them look real with CGI effects afterward."

But Hollinger said that even with the changing plans, she expected "Transformers 3" to possibly have the greatest economic impact on the city of any film, surpassing the roughly $7.5 million Universal Pictures dropped in the city during six weeks of work in 2008 on "State of Play," a Russell Crowe film with scenes from Ben's Chili Bowl and the Georgetown waterfront. For "Transformers 3," her office has also partnered with a Los Angeles-area organization to train 50 District residents for production assistant jobs with Paramount, and she believes the film will also lead to tourism business.

"The economic impact is tremendous because of its effects during the years after," Hollinger said. "Tourists, families, kids want to go to the cities where 'Transformers' was filmed, similar to the effect that 'Night at the Museum' has had."

After "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" came out in 2009, the city's marketing arm, Destination D.C., partnered with Post Foods and Kraft Foods on a promotional sweepstakes offering a prize trip to Washington and overnight stay at the National Air and Space Museum.

Though a lot is at stake with a blockbuster like "Transformers 3," the tension isn't new. Carol Flaisher, a longtime location manager in D.C., said producers and the Park Service were natural antagonists, with the movie crews demanding to do whatever they please and the Park Service wagging its finger. "We want to make the best movie we can make and that may mean pushing the envelope, and the Park Service is in the position of pushing back," she said.

"It's not 'Transformers 3,' " she said. "It's every single movie production that comes to town."

This is what Mr. Murphy said about Transformers 3…
TRANSFORMERS 3 is starting its third week of shooting. As you guys know, everything on this movie is super top secret., but it is going very well and I think you will all be stoked to see old favorites and new characters coming at ya. You know I liked the second film a lot- that said the new screenplay brings back the sense of awe and wonder that made the first film so exciting and special. It’s a shame that Megan didn’t work out but with what Michael has planned you won’t miss her. There is still a hell of a lot of shooting to go and you don’t need me the way you guys dig up clues and shit- suffice it to say NEXT Fourth of July you guys will be excited again. I personally can’t wait.

Shoot For The Edit Site Update - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Officially Confirmed and Filming in LA

This is it. Michael Bay's official website; Shoot For The Edit welcomed Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to the Transformers Franchise. With it, We are now fully confirmed about Miss Rosie's involvement in Transformers 3.

The site also talked about filming Transformers 3 in LA. This is what the news update read...

"Nelson here...

I would like for all you S4TE fans to welcome Rosie Huntington Whitely to the world of Transformers. As some of you might know, she's the new female lead in Transformers 3. She's worked with Michael before in his Victoria's Secret "A Thousand Fantasies" ad.

Director and executive producer Michael Bay has begun filming the third installment in the "Transformers" franchise in Los Angeles, where the production economy has been buffeted by the loss of such big studio features to other cities offering more generous film tax incentives.

The DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures production has been shooting on a sound stage at the former Spruce Goose Howard Hughes hangar at Playa Vista and will film exterior shots throughout the L.A. area over the next several weeks, including Long Beach, West Hollywood, Century City and Malibu. The first two "Transformers" movies were also shot heavily in Southern California, filming numerous scenes downtown and at Edwards Air Force Base in the Mojave Desert.

"Mike, [producer] Lorenzo [di Bonaventura] and I are all big fans of trying to keep as much of our production in L.A. as possible," said Bay's producing partner, Ian Bryce. "It's a big movie. All our stage work is being done here."

In all, six weeks of the 4 1/2 months of shooting will occur in the L.A. area, with the rest of the filming spread across Chicago, Detroit, Washington and Cape Canaveral, Fla., and a few foreign locales, including Russia and an undisclosed African country, Bryce said.

Bryce said the science-fiction action movie starring Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Patrick Dempsey required more diverse locations than L.A. could offer, and also cited the advantages of "very attractive rebates" offered in Michigan and Illinois, which will also host the production for six weeks.

The picture, with an estimated production budget of at least $200 million and a local crew of nearly 500, would not qualify for California's new film incentive program, which is limited to movies with budgets of up to $75 million."

Tyrese Gibson Begins Transformers 3 Filming

Throughout the last week all we heard was the “Megan Fox Incident”. It’s happy to hear from Tyrese Gibson (USAF Master Sergeant Robert Epps) that he just attended his Transformers 3 filming today.

First day of filming T3 in the am!. I’m so damn pumped I can't even sleep!!!...

And with… “Just got to set first day of filming Transformers 3! Wow!!

We will end this article with Epps' famous quote from the Transformers Live Action Movies; “Bring The Rain!!!”

Tyrese Gibson Talks About The Recent Events

The "Transformers"-loving world was shocked last week when it was revealed that star Megan Fox would not be returning for the upcoming third movie in the franchise, which starts shooting this week.

"Transformers" co-star Tyrese Gibson (USAF Master Sergeant Robert Epps) said he was disappointed when he heard the news of Fox's departure.

"I was sad about it, man. Genuinely," he told MTV News on the red carpet for the E! 20th anniversary celebration Monday night. "We built something here. We all did. We all put our own sauce and stamp and energy on this franchise."

As much as he was bummed to hear the news, Gibson isn't prying into the backstory before he heads to the "Transformers 3" set this Thursday. "I don't know exactly what went down," he said. "But it's crazy to see the band get broken up, you know what I mean?"

No matter which story you believe — that Paramount decided not to exercise Fox's option, or that Fox decided she wanted out — it certainly is surprising that such a key figure in the franchise would be removed so suddenly, especially with production so close to kicking off. The problematic Fox/Bay relationship aside, there have been few indications of problems in the "Transformers" camp. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura even told MTV News in a recent interview that a "Transformers" without Fox was unthinkable.

"Michael and Megan get along great. Like in any creative endeavor, there's not always total agreement," he said at the time. "But I think [reports of their issues with one another is] much ado about nothing. I even read that we were thinking about not casting her. Come on! It's so silly. As though we would want to mess with such a successful combination."

Megan Fox Leaves Transformers, Gemma Arterton to Replace Fox?

A report on deadline.com is reporting that Paramount will not be picking up the option for Megan Fox to appear in the third Transformers film. Deadline.com also reports the decision came down to director Michael Bay, who gave Fox the thumbs down.

People.com reports, representatives for Megan Fox are saying it was her decision to leave the Transformers film franchise.

"Prince of Persia" star Gemma Arterton is the front-runner to replace Megan Fox in "Transformers 3," TheWrap has learned.

An individual close to the casting process says the actress has already had discussions with Bay about the coveted role. Other possible replacements for Fox include models Bar Rafaeli, Miranda Kerr and Brooklyn Decker.

Paramount has confirmed to TheWrap that the studio decided against picking up Fox's option for the sequel, and an individual close to the production explained that as screenwriter Ehren Kruger was developing the screenplay with director Michael Bay, it made sense for Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) to have a new love interest.

Tudyk is repped by The Gersh Agency and Thruline Entertainment.

Shia LaBeouf Says Transformers 3 Will Be Better, Reveals Plot Details

SPOILER ALERT : This article contains plot elements of the 3rd Transformers Live Action Movie.

Shia LaBeouf told The Associated Press that Transformers 3 "brings the heart back to the franchise." He starts working on the third installment on Tuesday.

The new script restores a human element that got lost in the second movie, LaBeouf said. "When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did," LaBeouf said at the Cannes Film Festival. "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone."

Michael Bay returns for the third time as director of the science-fiction franchise, which centers on dueling races of giant robots that bring their war to Earth. The next movie will have what the last one lacked - a sense of human consequences, LaBeouf said.

On the second movie, "we got lost. We tried to get bigger. It's what happens to sequels. It's like, how do you top the first one? You've got to go bigger," LaBeouf said. "Mike went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie. ... You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn't matter. Then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

With "Transformers 3," the toll of the robot war will be grave for our planet, LaBeouf said.

"There's going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they're targeting humans," LaBeouf said. "It's going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed."

Transformers 3 is coming to theaters on July 1, 2011.

Transformers 3 Location Update: Space Coast, Florida

Space Coast, Florida updated their Twitter account to let us in on an upcoming shooting for Transformers 3.

"Transformers 3 to film on Florida's Space Coast! Filming to begin September 2010!"

As we all know, this is where the Kennedy Space Center is.

UPDATE: Got the confirmation from the Kennedy Space Center that it will be the main location for the TF3 Shooting.

Brevard County Film Commissioner Bonnie King tells Central Florida on Demand that filming will last about 8 days in early September. She says location scouts have visited the area for 2-3 days at a time, looking at other areas to shoot. Those include Patrick Air Force Base, Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville, Merritt Island Airport, Lone Cabbage Fish Camp in Cocoa, and a Cocoa beach house. Scouts also checked out some swamps and went into the woods.

Transformers 3 producers will be looking to cast extras from Florida's Space Coast as well.

Brand New Upgraded Twins In Transformers 3

Director Michael Bay was telling the truth after all? The "Revenge Of The Fallen" Twins aren't the ones who are returning, but rather Brand New Twins.

leftlanenews.com spy report identifies Two new Chevy Sparks with Autobot insignias during pre-production of Transformers 3.

"Sporting “Autobot” center caps on the wheels, these two vehicles were captured doing some pre-production work before principal filming starts in a few weeks. We think you are looking at Skidz (green) and Mudflap (orange).

Skidz is looking much sportier than in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, with new front and rear fascias, larger fenders, sportier wheels and a big wing. Mudflap was previously based on the Chevy Traxx concept, but for this installment, it appears both cars will be built off the Chevy Spark.

General Motors will once again be the main vehicle supplier for the latest Transformers movie, so expect to see several other GM-badged vehicles, including a black and yellow Chevy Camaro as Bumblebee."

So, now we know the motive behind Mr. Bay's comment. He wanted to hush the latest looks of everyone's favorite Robotic Twins; Skids and Mudflap.

Visit TFW2005 for more images.

Rumor - Gabriela Plana In Transformers 3?

Lovely NBC Reporter and Talk Show Host Gabriela Plana updated her Twitter and Facebook accounts saying that she is "working" on Transformers 3.

Being a reporter in real life means that she must be starring as a news reporter in Transformers 3 too. What could she be reporting? A protest or the assassination of an entire city full of humans perhaps? Looks like there are quite a lot of "human" activities going on for Transformers 3.
Or on the other hand though, She could be reporting a scoop about Transformers 3 shootings.

Either way, Transformers Fans Win. A beautiful face for a movie about Anti-Transformers Campaigns (and Anti-Human Campaigns by the Decepticons) or an upcoming official on-set report?

A Twin Twist : Bay Says Skids & Mudflap Not Returning In Transformers 3

Director Michael Bay left a comment in a thread at his official web site saying "The Twins are not back in T3".

This might be a misinformation or maybe not?

Fans did report seeing Bay directing a scene involving Skids and Mudflap in LA for Transformers 3. But what do you think of the motive behind Bay's comment?

First Behind-The-Scenes Video From Transformers 3

Transformers Fan Ben Brown was on site where a scene from Transformers 3 being filmed, shared a video of a Smart Car being thrown down a alley in Los Angeles. This shot was preceded by a scene where Autobots Skids and Mudflap were seen cruising nearby.

Ben had this to say...
"Perched on the windowsill of the NeighborGoods office, I recorded this awesome scene from the upcoming Transformers 3 movie. You can even hear Michael Bay yelling at people!

We also saw the Autobot “twins” zooming around. Apparently, one or both of them will transform and beat the crap out of this tiny little car. Totally awesome."

This Video Is No Longer Available At The Original Source Due To A Copyright Claim By Paramount Pictures Corporation

Also, here's something really interesting. The Ally-way walls were graffitied with "Autobots GO HOME!" Symbols. Click on the Thumbnail to the left to see a couple of images taken by Ben Brown. Whether this was done by the Decepticons or by some Human Protesters? is open for Speculation.

Kym Whitley Joins Transformers 3, Melody Mooney Reveals A Plot Detail

Actress and Comedian Kym Elizabeth Whitley updated her Official Twitter Account saying “Working on Transformers 3 today, a little nervous...always when starting a new project. I have said the Lords prayer 12 times.”

And another actress; Melody Mooney (“Who Wants to Be a Superhero?” fame) also mentioned Transformers 3. But, she won’t be joining though. She revealed a plot detail. Melody stated that Two Robots (most probably Decepticons) will assassinate humans in a town. The shooting location is her home town (Sherman Oaks, CA). If there are any fans over there, you might want to take a little peek at the action. (And No, if you see Shia driving a Chevrolet Silverado Pickup Truck, that’s his personal vehicle and not Soundwave’s earth mode.)

Kym Whitley talked more about her role to BV on Movies.

"I usually don't like mentioning that I am working on 'Transformers' because I was also in 'Transformers 2' and I got cut out," she said. "So I try not to get excited about working on the project until I see the final edit, because you never know what's going to happen."

She added that "The real excitement about working on the film just comes from working with [director] Michael Bay. He writes these parts for me and just lets me roll with it. You can't beat that. It's kind of like working with Larry David, when I did 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.' Michael Bay works fast though. He laughs a lot, too. You rarely get someone to just tell you to go ahead and do your thing. That's the beauty of working with him."

'Transformer 3,' which is scheduled for release on July 1, 2011, has a cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, and Patrick Dempsey.

Optimus Prime does not at first glance look too different from the truck from the first two films, however Ratchet looks significantly different - a lot more green, with white stripes and what appears to be markings on the side of the vehicle. There's also a picture of a couple of Ironhide trucks cruising the 405 for your pleasure.

Megan Fox Discusses Mikaela Banes in Transformers 3

Stuff.co.nz has posted an article about Megan Fox and her portrayal of Mikaela Banes in Transformers 3. The article suggests that her character be strong with more to do. For those tuning in for her looks, Megan Fox has also apparently convinced Michael Bay and company to make her look less tan (or "orange).

What are you more excited about, Mikaela having a larger role in the story or her paler skin?

MTV's Chat With Lorenzo di Bonaventura

MTV recently had a brief chat with Transformers 3 Producer; Lorenzo di Bonaventura. He talked about some very important topics that are being circulated throughout the Internet as facts or rumors. Bonaventura explained about the possibility of Transformers 3 going 3D, Dispute between Megan Fox & Michael Bay and most importantly about the Core Mythology Plot of Transformers 3.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that producing Transformers 3 in 3D is still in discussion; “We're literally in the middle of that. There's no definitive answer“

He dismissed the rumor of the dispute between Megan Fox and Michael Bay; “Come on! It's so silly. As though we would want to mess with such a successful combination.”

And teased the fans about the Core Mythology of Transformers 3; “I didn't think we veered away from the mythology in the second one. We stay pretty close to mythology in general, sometimes we add to it, as we did on the first and the second one. In second one, we're dealing with the matrix of leadership, a very clear mythological component. The Fallen is one of the original 13 Transformers. We were sticking fairly close to the mythology. We are going to continue to explore the past in the third one and that will continue to inform the present. I think it's pretty much the same thing we did on the first two: you try to get as close as you can to the lore and sometimes you run into pieces where there's not enough information to make a judgment, so you make you own call. That's a necessary component. By and large, the fans have accepted and embraced what we've been doing.”

We’ll be hearing more Transformers 3 news, now that things are set in motion.

Chicago : Center-Point For Transformers 3 Principal Photography

Chicago will act as the navel point for the Principal Photography of Transformers 3, says reelchicago.com. Basically, the Giant Fighting Robots will duke it out at the Windy City for the 3rd time.

Also, the article revealed that the filming will begin on 4th of July and will successfully continue for seven weeks.

Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal calls the upcoming big-budget shoot “a blockbuster in every sense of the word; in terms of economic impact, stunts and special effects.” In a sit-down with the producers last winter, Mayor Daley was agreeable to their city location requests “as he saw the multiple value in this big movie shooting here,” says Moskal. They will shoot along Michigan Avenue and throughout the Loop

Tony Todd To Play A Human In Transformers 3

Mr. Tony Todd (voice of The Fallen in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen) recently attended the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo 2010. 2005 Board member Keroshino took the opportunity to ask about Mr. Todd's role in Transformers 3.

Tony Todd once said that he will be returning to the Transformers Movie Franchise. But didn't reveal how or for what character.

Thanks to Keroshino, we now know that Mr. Todd hinted that he will be playing a Human Character for the 3rd Movie.

Actor Tony Todd has been in over 100 films and television shows, lending his versatile talents to the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres. He's best known as the Candyman and has appeared in the Final Destination series, the Crow, the Rock, Wishmaster, Platoon, and Night of the Living Dead. He's also the voice of The Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He's made guest appearances as Worf's brother Kurn in Star Trek, Boston Public, Hercules, Xena, the X-Files, Smallville, Angel, 24, Stargate SG-1, Chuck and Andromeda!

But, who will he be for Transformers 3? A military personnel? an evil scientist? or maybe just for a cameo appearance?

Shia LaBeouf Finds Returning To Transformers 3 Hard

Femalefirst.co.uk recently had a chat with the "Transformers" star Shia LaBeouf a.k.a Sam Witwicky.

Shia had this to say...
“My mind battles with me all the time. My mind hates the fact that I’m going back to Transformers 3, but the kid in me loves it. The actor in me, who is looking to challenge himself, isn’t going to get it on in Transformers and I know that.

But that doesn’t mean that I’m any less dedicated to that movie being perfect. I wasn’t happy with the second movie and unless the third one is better than both, then we failed.”

Will the future Transformers live action movies be "Sam-less"?

John Malkovich On Transformers Movie Franchise and Transformers 3

While ComingSoon.net chatted with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, IGN had decided to chat with actor John Malkovich.

Malkovich, admitted that he likes a good giant-robot movie as much as the next guy, despite his seemingly higher-brow tendencies.

He had this to say...
"I was never a fanatical movie person," Malkovich told. "There are many popular films I love like anyone else. Having said that, I'm not someone… I don't have time to go to the movies very much. I work [on] a lot of different things; I'm always busy. But I'm always happy to see a popular movie. … I'd seen the first [Transformers], which I liked and thought it was funny."

The article confirms the earlier rumor of Transformers 3 Principal Photography to begin in May.

Also, LatinoReview.com too had a talk with the actor...
How did you get involved with the new Transformers movie?
Malkovich: I spoke with him last week. Lorenzo and Mark and Summit are producing. They approached me about it. I’d see the first one, which I liked and thought it was funny. I like working with them very much. They’re very good producers, they’re very hands-on, always around, really get their hands dirty which is not so normal.

Things are set in motion. What do you think of "General Bay" and the cast? Think Transformers 3 can beat the predecessors? Why not share your views with others by commenting.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura On Transformers 3

ComingSoon.net recently chatted with "Transformers" producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura about what is going on with Transformers 3, scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release.

On the chat, Lorenzo di Bonaventura explained about his involvement on producing Transformers 3 and about John Malkovich.

Q: On a film like "Transformers 3," do you find yourself having to explain a lot about what you're doing to the director and studio or are you given free reign?
Lorenzo di Bonaventura: Not with Bay, you know? With Bay, no not too much there either. Bay is such a general that it moves at his pace. The first movie we had to explain a lot of why we wanted to spend this, what was going on… dah dah dah, but most movies in my experience and in most studios they're all running in a difficult time right now and they're concerned about their careers and concerned about the results. I grew up in the Warner Brothers system and our philosophy was once we made our bet, which meant it's up to the filmmakers to deliver it. So it wasn't a particularly intrusive system after once it made its bet. You had to pass a lot of hurdles to get to the go, but once you got there it was like, alright we're here. We've placed our bet and our philosophy at Warner's was you can't direct the movie if you're an executive and you can't write the movie and you can't act the movie, so you know, unless they're going sideways what can you do? It's up to them to elevate it.

Q: Are any of these actors you're working with now, are they going to be in any of your future films?
Di Bonaventura: Actually [John] Malkovich is in "Transformers 3."

Q: And what is his role in that?

Di Bonaventura: You know we don't talk a lot about that script, but he's going to have a lot of interaction with Shia in that movie. And he's got a really fun character. And he's going to bring a really interesting spin to that franchise so it's going to be great.
