Transformers Nefarious #1 Line Art Preview

Transformers Nefarious #1 Line Art Preview 01
We now have our first look at a three page preview of line art from the upcoming Transformers: Nefarious #1 thanks to Comic Book Resources.

Transformers: Nefarious starts where Transformers: Tales of the Fallen #5 (in comic books stores now) left off which tells the story of how Ravage was somehow revived by The Initiative.

The sequel to TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN starts here!

What is The Initiative? More to the point, why doesn’t the all-seeing SOUNDWAVE know anything about it? How did they come to reanimate/control RAVAGE? SOUNDWAVE must find the answers, and he’ll destroy anything in his path to get them!

Nefarious will serve as the comic book sequel to the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen film, and is written by Simon Furman with art by Carlos Magno. Expect to see this latest IDW Publishing title in comic book stores in March 2010.

Mikaela Banes Not Dying In TF3

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen helmer Michael Bay has told the media (and everybody) to give Megan Fox "a break."

"It’s just, she’s young," Mr. Bay tells USA Today, "she only…23? It’s just hard. I’ve traveled around the world with her and she’s just like this world symbol now, you know?"

Mr. Bay also downplays the rumor that he's going to kill her off in Transformers 3. "No, no, no," he says. "She’s got a great part in Transformers 3."

He also notes that he is currently working on a script for the upcoming film but did not mention Ehren Krueger, who is the last remaining writer from the trio that wrote Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen after Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman decided they would not return.

Simon Furman Reveals, Transformers : Nefarious #1

Simon Furman has updated his blog site with a script wrap for Transformers Nefarious issue #1, due out sometime next year. The Revenge of the Fallen sequel miniseries is slated to last for six issues, and spins out of the story in November's Tales of the Fallen Issue 5. Without spoiling too much, he says that the story will involve a new global conspiracy, four new toy Autobots making their debut, and four all-new Decepticon agents created specially for the story. The following is an excerpt from the blog site.

Spoiler Alert
SCRIPT (W)RAP — NEFARIOUS #1

Been a while since I did one of these post-script digressions, so here goes with issue #1 of the upcoming Transformers: Nefarious (6-issue) mini-series from IDW, a direct sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (so set in the movie-verse). My aim is to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, but if you’d rather not even be teased, look away now! Strictly speaking, Nefarious begins in Tales of the Fallen #5, which features the mysterious resurrection of Ravage (and his even more mysterious mission). But even if you don’t catch that one, issue #1 rolls full pelt into a global conspiracy of which even the Autobots and Decepticons have been blissfully oblivious… until now. Featuring Soundwave, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Sideswipe, Alice (yes, Alice!), a quartet of Autobot (toy) characters making their Earth-based debut and even four all-new, original Decepticons (you didn’t think Ravage was Soundwave’s only special agent, did you?), the first issue peels back some of the layers surrounding the mysterious (human) organization known as The Initiative and the (potentially) earth-shattering Project: Nefarious. Just how far and wide its reach extends into the warp of weft of recent Cybertronian history (and how much it’s about to influence their future too) will force Soundwave and then Optimus Prime into truly desperate measures (and a clash or two too) as they learn who’s really in charge of their destiny. And it’s not them! Issue #1 promises lots of intrigue, action, shocks and a final page that’ll leave you scraping your lower jaw off the floor. Do not miss this one!
Wow... That was really awesome !!!

Orci And Kurtzman Explain, Why They Are Not Writing For Transformers 3

In a recent interview with IGN, Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have explained that their reason for passing on writing the third installment in the franchise is due to time constraints. They explain that they could not do a third movie due to other commitments and would not want any project they are involved in to suffer due to taking on too much work. The interview reveals that this is also why Transformers 3 writer Ehren Kruger was brought on to help with Revenge of the Fallen.

We will miss them both :-(

ROTF Home Video Sold 2 Million Copies In 1 Day

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen sold 2 million discs on its first day of release. This total does seem to include both DVD and Blu-ray sales.

..the real talk of the town was Paramount/DreamWorks' "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," which arrived in stores Oct. 20 and within 24 hours had sold 2 million discs, according to industry sources -- giving the sell-through business, down 13.9% for the year, a badly needed shot in the arm.

Hurray For Transformers !!! :-)

ROTF Shines At The SpikeTV Awards

I'm happy to announce that ROTF had won some awards; which includes Best Sci-Fi Actress, Special Effects and Breakthrough Awards.

Last night's Spike TV Scream 2009 awards for all the best in horror and Science-Fiction gave Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen three awards for Best Sci-Fi Acctress to Megan Fox, Best Sciral Effects and Best Breakthrough Performanse to Isabel Lucus. Fox used her acceptence speech for the Best Sci-Fi Actress as an opportunity to set the record straight on the rumors swirling around movie town about her future in the Transformers movie franchise. Stating again, that the rumors of her being killed off in Transformers 3 are totally false. Fox also reiterated her adoration, respect and appreciation for the opportunity to be in the movie for what she states as a modest role in the movie. From her award acceptance speech she states:
"I would like to take this moment to actually say something genuine. There have been a lot of false reports concerning how I feel about this movie and I just want to be very clear that I've always felt that I am a very ordinary part of an extraordinary film. These movies took me out of obscurity and they gave me a career and I am completely grateful to everyone involved with this franchise."
Thanks For the Votes !!!

Transformers : Revenge Of The Fallen BluRay Special Edition

Frenzy_Rumble has also managed to acquire the home version of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen ahead of its official October 20th release date. He has very kindly provided us with a full run down of all the features on the set, which are located on the second disk. Of particular note is the N.E.S.T Transformer Data-Hub which (among other cool features) allows you to view Industrial Light and Magic Production Art and renders in high res, and even view some sections and parts of characters in full 360 view. Another fun feature is the Allspark Experiment, which allows you to create your own custom Transformer!

The Human Factor Exacting Revenge of the Fallen
This is a commentary by actors/directors/concept artist/cast members etc. Really long, I've only watched brief parts of it. This area is broken into several sections:
  • Seeds of Vengeance - Development and Directing
  • Domestic Destruction - Production US
  • Joint Operations - Production Military
  • War of the world - Production Middle East
  • Start making sense - Editing
  • Under the Gun - Visual Effects
  • Running the Gauntlet - Post Production and Release
  • Credits

A Day with Bay : Tokyo
This is like a reality mini-show with Michael Bay in Tokyo, Japan. After watching it, I have a lot more respect for the guy...

25 Years of Transformers
Same thing we've seen before, history of Transformers, how they started back in 1984, and how they've evolved to how the world perceives them now. Little history on the toys, comics, apparel, etc.

N.E.S.T Transformer Data-Hub
This is a very cool bonus feature. It is an in-depth description of many Autobots and Decepticons in the film.

First you chose a faction,

For Decepticons, there is Megatron, Starscream, Devastator, Soundwave, Ravage, and the Fallen.

For Autobots, there is Prime, Jetfire, Ironhide, Bumblebee, Skids and Mudflap.

Selecting the robot will prompt a menu and screen about them. Top left is the tech spec data for that particular Transformer. Under that are the other sub categories for that TF. Most include :
  • Bio - text bio of that TF
  • Animated series - pictures/info of that character in the 80s cartoon
  • Marvel comics - bio and pictures from marvel comic TFs
  • IDW Comics - bio and pictures from IDW TFs
  • Concept Art - high res images of conceptual art
  • Hasbro Toys - different series toys of that TF
  • ILM Production Art - This one is very cool. Most include CGI rendering in high res, but some allow you to choose sections or parts of the character and see them in 360 view. Unfortunately, it's not too big (only in a smaller window) I would have liked to see this have an option to expand that 360 rotating CGI art to full screen...

Allspark Experiment
This is a really cool and fun bonus feature. You're basically taking the Allspark shard and adding it's power to an earth vehicle. User may chose from 3 different types of cars (Sports car, Sedan, mini-car) Jet, or Military vehicle (similar to Wreckage)

Once the user selects a vehicle, they may "customize" it; pick color (palette very limited; like 3 colors choices per) then you can customize the spoiler, front and back ends, accessories, tires and graphics (flames and stuff)

You then hit the "enter" button and a few seconds later, you'll see the vehicle you've customized - but as a unique Transformer.

Super Cool !!!

Bio of Recon Ironhide toy revealed

Chinese transformer website The-Arker has recently given us bios for two upcoming Revenge of the Fallen releases, both belonging to the new N.E.S.T. Global Alliance sub-line. We had previously seen Decepticon Bludgeon bio but this is the first time we get Recon Ironhide one.

Recon/Jungle Attack Ironhide bio
Stalking through the jungles of Southeast Asia, Ironhide moves in absolute silence. The only sound is the dripping of the never-ending rain from the board leaves of immense trees. Yet he knows Decepticon Bludgeon is here somewhere, waiting for him. He has come to this verdant place to hunt the Decepticon martial artist and finish the job the other Autobots left undone. He has come to track and destroy a dangerous Decepticon warrior, once and for all.
I wonder if Ironhide will loose his alternate mode (GMC Topkick) because of the battle with Decepticon Bludgeon ?

Orci and Kurtzman not returning to write Transformers 3

Posting on the Don Murphy message board, Transformers and Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen writer Roberto Orci has confirmed that himself and Alex Kurtzman will not be returning to write a third film.

He goes on to state later in the same discussion thread that Ehren Kruger will be taking on full writing chores for the third movie, and assures fans that Mr Kruger knows his Transformers.

The forum had this posted,
"So Bob and Alex is it true. you wont be involved this time round.
It's true.

Sorry to hear that Roberto, really I am. Are we in good hands with Mr. Kruger? Does he know his Transformers?
He does. He really did his homework. He's awesome."
There you have it. Orci and Kurtzman are out, Ehren Kruger is in. Whether that is good news or not probably depends on your feelings regarding much of the humor of the second film (the Twins, Devastator's balls, etc) as most of that came from the minds of Bay and Kruger. As always, time will tell.

Transformers 3 storyarc to be kick-started with "Transformers : Nefarious"

As well as lot of cool new toys, revealed yesterday was IDW Publishing's next Transformers miniseries, Transformers : Nefarious. Transformers : Nefarious will follow on from Revenge of the Fallen, and will introduce a shadowy human organization with sinister plans on our favorite Robots in Disguise. The miniseries will be written by Simon Furman and have artwork by Carlos Magno. Cover art will be provided by Brian Rood. Look for it at comic stores early next year.

Simon Furman had this to say...
"the news is out, my next series for IDW will be Transformers: Nefarious, a six-issue movie continuity mini-series that picks up from the end of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and introduces an all-new adversary for the Transformers (Autobot and Decepticon) in the shape of a mysterious, far-reaching and very powerful group of humans with access to enhanced Transformer-tech and maybe even the odd actual Transformer! Seeds for the new series will be sown in the final Tales of the Fallen issue, Ravage, and he (along with Soundwave) play key roles in the unfolding drama. Expect lots more character depth and exploration for both. Actually, make that all characters. We’re going to be highlighting some Autobots and Decepticons that did and didn’t make it into the second movie and maybe, just maybe, throwing in the odd new character too! Plus, we’ll be exploring the post-movie NEST/Autobot human alliance in more detail too! For more info check out the IGN interview I did recently. Transformers: Nefarious kicks in shortly after Tales of the Fallen #6: Ravage. Don’t miss either!"
Things are now set in motion...

Toy Bios reveals TF3 plot details ?

The latest toy-line from Hasbro had caught the eyes of Transformers movie fans all over the world, as it reveals possible major plot details from the upcoming movie.
The new "N.E.S.T Global Alliance" toy bios gives away a storyarc which tells a plot of events happening after the 2nd movie's story...

Voyager Bludgeon bio
Decepticon Bludgeon was nearly destroyed by a fight with the Metallikato Master Autobot Whirl. Forced to retreat and hide, he scanned a new vehicle mode and disappeared into the Southeast Asian jungle. He is desperate to prove himself against an Autobot, however, so he has caused just enough chaos locally to attract the attention of Ironhide. Now he lies in wait for the Autobot, ready to spring his trap and destroy his victim in an instant.
Deluxe Dirge bio
Dirge thought the heart of enemy territory - N.E.S.T. Headquarters - was the perfect place from which to launch a secret campaign of terror. A single slip-up revealed his presence, and brought his plans crumbling down. Now he's running scared with Bumblebee and Armorhide on his tail. He's to firghtened to land, but so terrified of running out of fuel that he finds himself breathing a sigh of relief every time he touches down.
Deluxe Tuner Mudflap bio
There was a time when Mudflap would have been intimidated by a warrior as accomplished as Sideswipe. But now, with the final battles of the war in his past, and a hot new engine and paint job, he's ready to give the Autobot sword-master a run for his money. Mudflap can't outfight Sideswipe, but there's no doubt in his mind he can out-drive the older Autobot.
Deluxe Armorhide bio
Things have been slow lately, so the discovery of a Decepticon hiding right under his nose was like a dream come true for Armorhide. He's enjoying working alongside Bumblebee, since his damaged vocal processor means the other Autobot can't complain about his methods. Armorhide doesn't care about stealth or safety. All he cares about is bringing Dirge crashing down.

Peaugh Reviews "Decepticon Bludgeon"...

The long awaited Toy Review from the Master Of TF Toys; Peaugh reviews Decepticon Bludgeon.
Peaugh is back with a new review from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen toy line. He has been taking a break from ROTF toys, instead reviewing Marvel MiniMates and Robots in Disguise, likely because the Revenge line has become a repaint fest. An exception to this is Voyager Bludgeon which hold a key plot element in the upcoming 3rd movie of the franchise. Based on the review, this toy is shaping up to be a solid addition to the line.

Bay also mentions that he will be flying out to Hasbro headquarters in Rhode Island to talk about new characters today, and also leaves a little message just for Megan Fox.

"Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.
